  Current Research

1. Distance Learning: I have been researching distance learning projects since I was part of the Globalization Advisory Board for the Center for Global Business Management at New York University. This topic applies my technologcal, strategic, innovative, international, and entrepreneurial skills to education. Having taught for two large for-profit online universities, several traditional schools with e-learning programs, and MOOCs, I have had a real-world laboratory to test my theories, and I have collected empirical evidence to demonstrate just why distance learning environments are so bad, and what can be done to improve them. I have created platforms for myself and for corporate and not-for-profit organizations that reflect this research, and, of course, I can demonstrate both the methodology and the results.


2. Quantitative Analysis of Cross-Cultural Negotiations, based on software of my own design that matches negotiators from around the world (China, Japan, France, Germany, Brazil, Canada, India, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, and Dubai against an avatar in real-time, interactive negotiations, testing well-established scales of international comparison. The research builds on studies by Cleveland & Laroche (2007) and Michael Kraten’s work on transfer pricing negotiations.


3. Innovation Project. In September 2014, I began an on-going case study of an innovation and creativity laboratory that was fully implemented in 2015. The purpose of the study is to determine key variables for subsequent experiments.


4. IPOs in Unregulated Markets. A study of the opportunities afforded by neglected markets.


5. Memory & Learning. New research on the role of rote memorization on learning in business students.
